The Eighth edition of Seher il-Punent Festival in Gharb got under way this evening, the festival closes on Sunday, the 7th of December, 2014. There was the switch on of the Christmas Tree and Christmas lighting, as well as the opening of the Christmas market and Crafts Village.The theme for year’s special edition of the festival is Christmas and all the festivities that are associated with it.

This evening a re-enactment of the appearance of the angel Gabriel took place, following which the ‘Holy Family started their journey to the Nativity Village – Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem.They travelled through Republic Street in Victoria, where the Christmas lights were officially switched on by the Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo.
