Three Gozo-Rocks! hikes have been organised over the festive season by Louis Debattista, of the Gozo-Greyhound Sports Club.

The first one is this Sunday, starting from Ghasri Church at 1.00pm, it is followed by another on after Christmas on Sunday, the 28th of December, which starts at the Marsalforn car park at 1.00pm. These will be countryside hikes to enjoy the scenery and nature of the areas.

Then on Monday, the 29th of December, there will be a Gozo-Rocks clean-up hike, which Louis said will be covered by TVM, and is leaving Qala Local Council at 9.00am, hiking to Mgarr and back. Gloves and refuse bags will be provided.

All the hikes will be for around 2-3 hours. Please wear comfortable shoes and take water and snacks.

“The hikes are for everyone to join…. not just those from Qala,” Louis said. “I encourage as many people as possible to join us. It costs nothing to join us on the hikes, and they help you stay active and healthy, after the festivities and food of Christmas!”

Other details and information for contact are as the above poster.

The Gozo Greyhounds Sports Club is an NGO run by volunteers, with parents making up the committee. The young members of the club in Qala meet regularly to train in running and cycling with Louis Debattista.
