The Office of the Gozo College Principal has announced that all schools within the Gozo College will be holding elections to fill in the three places available for parents in each respective School Council.

This has come about as a result of the great interest generated in these elections among the parents and Heads of School alike.

As a result, thirteen different elections, eleven in primary schools and two in secondary school, will be held in Gozo on Friday, the 23rd of January 2015.

In these elections parents will be asked to choose the three representatives that will represent them in their children’s respective school council.

Mr Victor Galea, the Gozo College Principal, said that he would like thank all the parents that have so kindly decided to offer a greater input in the education of their children by offering to participate in the forthcoming school council elections.

“This interest augurs well for education in Gozo since we all believe that parents are the first educators of their children,” he said.

Mr Galea also showed his appreciation to the Senior Management Teams of the respective Schools for the preparatory work that they had to do in anticipation of these elections. “The 70 candidatures presented reflect the good work that each Head of School must have done to generate so much interest.”

It is now the turn of the parents of all the students that attend state primary and secondary schools within the Gozo College to provide their input and support by voting in the elections that will be held next Friday.

All families will be receiving the voting document, which when completed must be mailed, or handed back in a sealed envelope, to the head of the respective school.
