The Nationalist Party has today launched a new website, which will calculate how much consumers are paying extra for their petrol and diesel when they fill their tanks at petrol stations, saying that the website “outlines the truth about fuel prices in Malta.

The Shadow Minister for Energy, Marthese Portelli, launched the new site, www.dieselpetrol.com saying that the PN will be keeping up its pressure on the Government to cut pump fuel prices immediately.

The PN Party said that for the past months, international oil prices have been in free fall. “Right now oil is even cheaper than its lowest in March 2009, when Maltese citizens used to pay €0.94 for diesel and €0.97 for petrol. Notwithstanding this, today’s prices in Malta are €1.35 for diesel and €1.42 for petrol.”
