Lorry topples over on Gozo Channel ferry during crossing in rough weather

Update: Earlier this morning a truck toppled over onto its side as a Gozo Channel ferry was crossing from Malta to Gozo in rough seas.

The incident happened shortly after 7.30am, no injuries were reported.

The Met Office has warned of a strong west to southwest winds and rough seas until at least late this afternoon.

Transport Malta in a statement this afternoon has said thatit is carrying out an investigation into the incident that happened on board a Gozo Channel vessel this morning during a ferry crossing between the islands.

The Authority said that it is in contact with the management of Gozo Channel and the captain of the vessel to “ascertain all the facts related to the incident whereby a truck allegedly toppled on its side.”
