The Gozitan Police, on Thursday, arraigned a 19-year old Somali national in connection with mobile phone thefts.

The Police, on the 27th of December last year, had received two separate reports by two women, who had their mobile phones stolen from their handbags. One of the women was attending a church concert, while the other was performing in the same concert.

From investigations carried out, the Police found it was the same person who had stolen both mobile phones. Only one of the phones was eventually recovered by the Police.

The man was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment suspended for 1 year and he also had to pay €600 for the mobile phone that had not recovered
