According to the results from a survey which has just been conducted by InsightPolls, personal income is seen as the major personal concern in Malta and Gozo, followed by immigration as the second major concern.
The poll, conducted between the 22nd and 26th of January, involved the participation of a panel of 560 persons, representative of the Maltese population in terms of age and gender. In the email survey, respondents were presented with a set of issues and were asked to choose their main personal concern.
The table below lists the level of concern for each issue presented in the survey.

Respondents to the survey were also asked to state the main problem, which in their opinion the country is facing. Immigration emerged as the main issue followed by health.

Main problem Malta is facing
Respondents said they are generally satisfied with the economic situation of the country. In fact 64% claimed to be either very satisfied or fairly satisfied while 34% claimed to be not so satisfied or not satisfied at all.
The level of satisfaction with their own economic situation is slightly less with 61% claiming to be very satisfied or fairly satisfied. 39% of respondents claimed to be not so satisfied or not satisfied at all with their own personal situation.
A majority of respondents (57%) claimed that this is not the appropriate moment to make important purchases, while 43% claimed that it is.
Respondents were also asked in the survey how they would vote if an election were to be held tomorrow. 44% claimed that would vote for the Labour Party, 35% claimed that they would vote for the Nationalist Party, while 4% claimed that they would vote for Alternattiva Demokratika.
17% of respondents either did not disclose their voting intention or claimed that they would not vote.
