The Grand Finalé of the Gozo Regional Carnival took place on Monday evening. The rain that had threatened to spoil the last night of the Carnival stayed away, and the crowds turned out in force to cheer on those who took part.It got underway with a defilé along Republic Street, and carnival dance performed by various dance companies of all ages in Fortunato Mizzi Street, there were grotesque masks, carnival floats and musical bands and a riot of colour.
