Those visiting Gozo between this Thursday and Sunday will be able to enjoy around fifteen different events which are taking place across the island.

Gozo Channel is also supporting this special weekend for the start of Gozo – Faith and Tradition, with discounted ferry fares to help encourage more people to cross to the sister island to enjoy the weekend of activities.

The Committee appointed by the Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo to coordinate these activities, said that it had planned a powerful advertising campaign, making sure that as many people as possible get to hear of the events.

The activities for this week are:

A. Gozo – Faith and Tradition

1. L-Imsallab fi Triqatna: Passion Play – Victoria – 21 March

2. Via Crucis Ta ‘Pinu – Gharb – 22 March

3. The 26th edition of the Gozo International Celebration – Qala – 21 March

4. Museum Exhibitions at Il – Hagar (Victoria), the Karmni Grima Museum (Gharb) and Vini e Capricci (Xewkija).

B. The first edition of the Gozo Folk Festival – taking place over 4 days, starting Thursday, 19th March.

C. The national dance company launches its first season: on the 21st of March at the Astra Theatre in Gozo

The national contemporary dance company of Malta, ZfinMalta, ZMDE, will launch its first season with Erbgha(4), a premiere featuring four dances by four different choreographers. An event set up in collaboration with the University of Malta, School of Performing Arts.The mixed bill will present distinctive works that demonstrate the versatility and diversity of the company within its Euro-Mediterranean context and sensibility.

D. The National Shrine Our Lady of Ta ‘Pinu with KDZ will hold a half-day of meditation and reflection for young people 16+. The event will lead participants on a Saturday afternoon of reflection and meditation, along the spectacular Way of the Cross on Ta’ Ghammar hill.

The programme includes guided reflection, sharing time, Mass with Gozo Bishop Mgr. Mario Grech, and a meditated pilgrimage to the acclaimed Way of the Cross.

G. The Vintage Motors Festival 2015 -21st March 22nd, 2015, Ghajnsielem, Nadur, Qala

H. Sawl – A controversial monologue on the turbulent life of St Paul, at Marsalforn Church – Saturday 21 March at 7 pm
