Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, addressing a party meeting in Qormi this morning, asked why the previous Nationalist Party administration had kept quiet about allegations of abuse in Gozo over works being carried out, even though it had been aware of the claims for some time.

Dr Muscat stated that this was only the tip of the iceberg and had been uncovered only following the introduction of the Whistleblower Act, along with the removal of time barring from corruption cases.

Speaking about the new investment in healthcare, he said that it will make Malta a central medical hub in the Mediterranean. The involvement of Bart’s Medical School of London will result in a new hospital for Gozo
