Marking the 25th anniversary of the historical visit of Saint John Paul II to the island of Gozo, the JP2 Foundation, in collaboration with the Ghajnsielem Local Council and the Parish Church, are presenting an Easter Concert by the Gresham Preparatory School Choir from the UK, under the musical direction of Nathan Waring.

The School has six choirs and the children on tour have been drawn from three of these choirs, including the Chapel Choir, Senior Choir and Jiminies. Gresham’s Chapel Choir regularly sings in churches and cathedrals around the UK and has twice reached the finals of the Barnardo’s National Choral Competition, which has seen them perform in London’s Royal Festival Hall and The Barbican.

In 2014, they performed two concerts with the English Chamber Orchestra, premiering a major new choral work by English composer Patrick Hawes.

Previous choir tours have taken them to Belgium, Switzerland, Estonia and the Czech Republic. Gresham’s last toured Malta in 2009.

The Gresham Preparatory School Choir will perform next Tuesday, the 14th of April, at Our Lady of Loreto Parish Church, Ghajnsielem, starting at 7.30pm.

The General Public is invited to attend.
