This month the Xaghra Local Council is celebrating the 327th Anniversary of the Xaghra Parish foundation.

Heritage Malta, to mark the occasion of Xaghra Day, is offering visitors the chance to view both the UNESCO World Heritage site Ggantija Temples, as well as Ta’ Kola Windmill for just €2.

The Xaghra Parish was founded on 28th April 1688 through the Episcopal Decree Cum In Prima signed by Bishop Davide Cocco Palmeri. Together with Xaghra, three other Parishes were established, separated from the Gozo Mother Church, today the Diocesan Cathedral – these are the Parish of Saint Margaret in Sannat, the Parish of Nadur and the Parish of Zebbug Gozo.

Opening times for both Heritage Malta sites are 9.00am to 5.00pm.

A 10% discount will also be offered on a one year Heritage Malta Membership.
