The recently completed project to pedestrianise the Munxar Parish Church parvis was financed through the first of the EcoGozo Schemes for Local Councils launched by the Ministry for Gozo.

The work was undertaken by the Munxar Local Council and the total contribution by the Ministry for Gozo towards this project was €66,500.The aim behind this embellishment, the Ministry said, was to increase pedestrian zones around Gozo; where an open space once used by cars, was converted to a pedestrian area, providing adequate facilities to be used by locals and tourists alike, therefore enhancing the touristic value of the village core.
