The Gozo University Group, the organisation representing Gozitan students, said that it has for the past two years, been in contact with Transport Malta to ameliorate the situation with reference to transport to the University and MCAST institutes from Cirkewwa.

GUG has said that through its proposal’s following a survey with students carried out last year, TM is considering whether to extend the X1A routes to the MCAST campus in Paola and to have another X1A route (i.e. not only with the 6am ferry).

“This progress will be of benefit to Gozitan students studying in Malta, especially MCAST students, who so far had had no direct express route to their place of study,” GUG said.

The Gozo University concluded by saying that it will continue working with Transport Malta on these issues, together with progress for direct routes on Fridays for Gozitan students returning to Gozo.
