A new photovoltaic grant scheme 2015 has been announced by Parliamentary Secretary Ian Borg, through which, he said, nearly seven thousand families are set to benefit.

The grant will cover 50% of the total eligible expenditure up to a maximum of € 2,300 or €757/kWp whichever is the lowest. A feed-in tariff of 16.5c/kWh guaranteed for 6 years, and payment of marginal cost (for exported electricity) thereafter.

For more information, the Malta Resources Authority is inviting all interested parties to information sessions on the Photovoltaic Grant Scheme 2015. In Gozo, this will take place on Wednesday, the 24th of June – Grand Hotel, Mgarr, starting at 5.30pm.

In Malta the information sessions will be on the following dates:

Wednesday 17th June – Project House, Belt is-Sebh at 17.30hrs

Tuesday 23rd June – Project House, Belt is-Sebh at 17.30hrs.

The MRA said that the Scheme guidelines should be issued shortly and will be on its website over the next few days.
