The Gozo Youth Orchestra in collaboration with The Ministry for Gozo and Embassy of the United States of America, will be presenting the very popular, ‘Opera vs Pop Under the Stars – 8th Edition.’

The concert will feature Soprano Pamela Agius (New York), Bass Noel Galea (Gozo) and Pop Singer Ludwig Galea (Malta) together with Gozitan and Maltese singers and musicians.

The Orchestra will be under the direction of Founder and Music Director Mro Joseph Grech.

The first part of the programme will consist of classical and operatic songs and arias, followed by an array of lighter pop arrangements from soundtracks and musicals in the second part. Patrons are invited to an after-concert treat.

This year’s event will be hosted by the Minister for Gozo Dr. Anton Refalo and the Ambassador for the United States of America H.E. Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley.

Opera vs Pop Under the Stars 8th Edition, is taking place on Monday, the 27th of July, starting at 8.30pm, at the Ministry for Gozo Courtyard, Victoria. Patrons are kindly requested to be seated 15 minutes prior to the start.

The Orchestra consists mainly of 50 Gozitan Youths who after having pursued their musical studies both in Gozo and Malta on an individual basis, meet regularly in group to prepare an exciting and varied repertoire to be performed later on in concerts throughout the year.
