The Blood Bank has issued an urgent call for donations, saying that reserves have dropped to a critical level, as the hot weather has led to less people coming forward to donate.

In Gozo, blood donations can be made in the Outpatients Department of the Gozo General Hospital, today Tuesday, the 21st of July, between 1: 00pm to 5: 00pm (last registration at 5: 00pm).

In Malta donations can be made at the Blood Bank in Gwardamanga, open daily (7 days a week) from 8: 00am to 6: 00pm. (last registration at 6: 00pm).

It is important that before you go to donate blood to drink a substantial amount of water, and take your ID card, driving license or Maltese passport.
