The Gozo Police have advised that the body found on Sunday afternoon, has been identified as a 71-year-old Danish woman who was reported missing on Friday. She was last seen that day, at about 3.30pm, the Police said.

The woman’s body was found naked lying face down in a pool of water by a dog walker, in Tal-Kapuccini Valley, limits of Victoria, Gozo.

Police said yesterday that the woman had suffered a blow to her head, bruises to her chest and a broken rib. Adding that although the wounds she suffered could have been due to foul play, they could also be the result of a fall.

The results of an autopsy carried out yesterday had been inconclusive, the Police said that DNA tests had been carried out in order to identify the woman

Investigations into the case are being carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department and District Police, who are treating this case as “a suspicious death.”

Anyone having any information regarding this case can pass on the information anonymously to the Police on Crime Stop Number 119.
