A person is in critical condition following a traffic accident in Triq il-Gebla tal-General, San Lawrenz, Gozo, late this afternoon.

At about 5.00pm this afternoon, The district police were advised by the Gozo General Hospital, that a 69-year-old man from Hamrun was involved in a traffic accident. Investigations showed that the man was driving towards Dwejra when he fell off his Piaggio Typhoon.

Investigations on this case are still on-going.

The Police said that in another traffic accident which took place earlier this afternoon, a 77-year-old female passenger in a car, was critically injured in Triq Villa Abate, Zabbar. Malta

The accident, which took place at about 4.45pm, involved a 77-year-old man from Gharb Gozo, lost control of his vehicle, a Toyota Aygo, and crashed into a wall. The woman was a passenger in the vehicle.

The two victims were conveyed to Mater Dei Hospital for further medical treatment. The woman was certified as being in critical condition whilst the condition of the man is not yet known.

Duty Magistrate, Dr Josette Demicoli LLd, appointed an inquiry into the case and Police investigations are still on-going.
