The eSkills Malta Foundation is seeking the collaboration of private and public organisations to offer 14-15 year old ICT students a one-week work exposure opportunity. This initiative aims to give these Form 4 students a taste of what it’s like to be part of a vibrant ICT sector.
The Foundation said that it believes that such an exposure to the real dynamic working world could be instrumental in the students’ future decisions and skill-set.
The initiative is organised by the eSkills Malta Foundation together with the Education Psycho- Social Services Section, within the Ministry for Education and Employment. Organisations have the flexibility of hosting the students during the weeks between the 16th of November 2015 and the 13th of May 2016. Moreover, the placement hours also offer a degree of flexibility.
The Foundation said that it presents a unique opportunity for ICT organisations to fulfil a corporate social responsibility by offering to help entice young people to become the next generation of ICT practitioners with the much sought after skill-set.
eSkills Malta Foundation is a multi-stakeholder partnership between the industry, the education authorities and Government committed to improve the variety, quality and quantity of ICT competences for economic growth.
The eSkills Malta Foundations is currently Malta’s national point for the European Union’s eSkills for Jobs 2015 campaign – a communication and awareness raising campaign encouraging citizens to improve their command of ICT skills.
To become a partner of the ICT Career Exposure Experience Week 2015-2016 please send an email to info@eskills.org.mt by Friday, the 18th of September 2015 and specify the number of students that your organisation is willing to take (the Foundation said that it respectfully asks for a minimum of two placements).
