A bus has been called for tomorrow (Friday) by the General Workers Union, between 4.00am and 11.00pm. The Union is claiming that no agreement has been reached to its demands over working conditions for drivers.

The service will resume on Saturday even if an agreement is not reached by tomorrow, the Union said, however it warned that other industrial action may take place should an agreement not be reached.

The General Workers Union General Secretary Tony Zarb, said that the Union wanted for its workers a minimum 30-minute break every six hours, an increase in wages, a fixed day off and new shifts. This step was a last resort, but the Union had been left with no alternative, therefore the directive had been issued to its members, he said.
