Patients who required cardiac MRI tests, had up until now, to go to a specialist hospital in Monza, Italy, Now these tests are available at Mater Dei Hospital, the Parliamentary Secretary for Health Chris Fearne announced today.

He said that “this technology will be providing cardiologists with information on all kinds of diseases that affect the heart, including about risks of heart attacks, as well as the veins and arteries around the heart. In some cases in the past, samples needed to be taken from the heart and would then have had to be tested in a laboratory. But now with this cardiac MRI, the diagnosis will be much faster, with the test carried out in our own country.”
