While it is Rome to attend the Synod of Bishops, The Bishop of Gozo Mgr Mario Grech had meetings with the Gozitan priests who are studying and carrying out pastoral work in the diocese, as well as with the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus and the the Augustinian Sisters.

The Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on "The vocation and mission of the family in the Church and the contemporary world," started on Sunday, the 4th of October and is scheduled to end on the 25th of October.The Synod involves 279 Bishops from more than 120 nations, as well as 17 married couples and 17 auditors, and other non-voting representatives.
