The pupils at Gozo College celebrated the European Day of Languages in a special way through the collaboration with Dame Marlene Muscat, from the Europe Direct Information Centre – Victoria Gozo.

Pupils chose different countries from within the European Union, and carried out research about each country’s flag. During the event each student said a sentence in the native language of the country they chose to research about. The activity was concluded by a speech and later followed by a discussion by Mr Brian Buhagiar, of the Language Office from the European Commission representative in Malta.

The School said that the children had enjoyed this activity and it had helped them become more aware about the diversity within the European Union. Later, pupils were given a basket with pamphlets and booklets explaining all about the European Union.
