The Gozo Motocross Association organised its second round of the championship 2015/16 at Ta' Xhajma Track on Sunday.
Following extensive works on the track, the Motox riders said that they are pleased with the high level of standard the committee is providing for them. The ramps, bumps, bends created, challenged the riders to use power, speed and strength to show their unlimited skills from start to finish.
There was a good turnout of 19 riders for the event, watched by the numerous fans who came to support their favourite riders.
As usual the event was divided into three categories. In Class A Etienne Bigeni, 2014/15 Champion, came in first, followed closely by Mario Cauchi and Joseph Bigeni respectively. In Category B, Matthew Mercieca came up first while Keith Bugeja, who missed last event's races, ended up coming in second. The newcomer Matthew Zammit showed incredible stamina on his Honda CRF and came in third. Jorn Stellini held on tightly to his 60 points, the maximum points a rider can achieve during an event. Also in Class C, the young Kurt Fenech came in 2nd, closely followed by Mark Camilleri.
Each winner was awarded a trophy at the end of the day's hard work.
Gozo Motocross Association has announced that the next event, on Sunday, the 13th of December 2015, will leave the dirt routes of Ta' Xhajma track and move to an artificial course that will be designed and created in Pjazza tal-Knisja at Munxar, Gozo.
This event, called 'XTREME – TRIALS & ENDURO,' co-organised by the GMA and the Local Council of Munxar as part of the Munxar Day activities, will showcase each rider's power, speed and endurance on Trial, Enduro and Motocross bikes.
More information and updates will be available on the GMA facebook page.
