'Banging the Drum' an exhibition showcasing the work of seven artists from the Caribbean island of Haiti, and that of Gozo artist Jackie Roberts has been inaugurated by the Minister for Gozo Dr.Anton Refalo, together with Mme. Delphine Vidal, French Consul, during a private view which was attended by around eighty guests from around the Maltese Islands.
Usually a designer clothing boutique, Lazuli ART has been transformed into a pop-up gallery for the duration of the exhibition showing around forty pieces of unusual metal art from the two islands.
One of the leading Haitian artists, Rony Jacques, was in Gozo for the opening weekend of the exhibition and delighted the public demonstrating his skills by transforming an old steel oil drum into a unique piece of art.
The exhibition is open until Sunday, the 6th of December at Lazuli ART in St. George's Square, Victoria on Fridays from 4 – 7pm; Saturdays from 10am – 2pm and Sundays from 10am – 1pm.
