The rain showers on Saturday evening did not dampen the Christmas spirit of the crowds that turned up for the official Christmas opening in Victoria, Gozo.

The Gozo Minister Dr Anton Refalo, switched on the big Christmas tree in Independence Square, the lights of Republic Street and various other Christmas illuminations.

The audience was treated to entertainment by choirs of young children, namely the Aurora Youth Choir and Piccolo Stelle, who brought warmth and joy with their voices to an otherwise chilly and damp evening.

This was followed by poetry reading and music by D Capital’s Band.
