Industrial production went down by 0.5% in October – NSO

Seasonally adjusted industrial production decreased by 0.5 per cent in October to 99.0 points over the previous month. When compared to October 2014, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went up by 1.9 per cent, the National Statistics Office said today.
Decreases were registered in the production of consumer goods (1.7 per cent), energy (0.8 per cent) and intermediate goods (0.1 per cent). On the other hand, the production of capital goods increased by 1.8 per cent.
When compared to the corresponding month last year, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went up by 1.9 per cent. Increases were registered in the production of consumer goods (3.4 per cent) and energy (2.8 per cent). On the other hand, decreases were registered in the production of capital goods (1.3 per cent) while the production of intermediate goods remained unchanged.
