The Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo has presented 36 computer tablets to people who attend the Santa Marta Day Centre in Victoria.

During a special event held at the Centre for the festive season, the Minister met with young people and their parents, as well as the adults who attend the Centre. The Minister, who was accompanied by Mrs Refalo, wished them all well for the Holiday, and thanked all the staff for the work they do to help disabled people.He said that this year, they had wanted to give a special gift for Christmas and after discussions with the parents and guardians of those who attend the Centre, the decision was taken on the tablets. "Today great progress has been made in the field of technology and they will be able to make use of the tablets, the centre has a specially equipped classroom with computers."

"This tablet will be given to each and every one of those who attend the Centre, making it easier for the IT teacher to download apps and programmes suitable for each individual, in accordance with his or her personal needs, and help to to further develop their skills," the Minister said.

Dr Refalo said that the aim behind this gift was that each person is given more assistance and learning to be able to move further ahead in a world surrounded by technology. It will also enable parents to help their children at home.
