The Education, Science & Culture Centre, in collaboration with the Parliamentary Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing, recently commemorated UNESCO's International Day for Persons with Disabilities at an event held at the Lunzjata Valley, Victoria, Gozo.

Children from schools within the Gozo College and Gozo church schools, together with students with special needs and youths attending the MASE programme within the LEAP project, participated in activities complementing UNESCO's theme chosen for this year – Inclusion Matters.

The day's programme included entertainment provided by local talent and the planting of an indigenous tree by the Parliamentary Secretary Dr Justyne Caruana and H.E. Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Malta to UNESCO Mgr Dr Joseph Vella Gauci in remembrance of this day and its significance.
