Gozo is a very special place to be during the Lent and Easter period, with many religious events taking place in villages across the island.

It is the greatest feast in the Christian calendar since it commemorates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, a festival celebrating the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ and includes various events of religious and traditional activities, such as processions, pageants, exhibitions and folklore.

This Sunday, the 28th of February in Qala there will be a procession with the statue of `Ecce Homo.'

The procession in Qala first started during the eighties. Families which used to live in the area known as Biccieri Street, nowadays known as Mithna Street, as well as Wied Simar Street and Cini Street, collected around one hundred pounds to commission this small statue.

The procession gets underway at 5.15pm.
