The Parliamentary Secretariat for the EU Presidency 2017 and EU Funds, through the Director General Funds and Programmes Division, has announced that funding schemes under the Malta Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 will be issued in the coming days.

The global allocation of the RDP 2014-2020 fund is over €129 million; the schemes being launched, which are overall more favourable when compared to schemes under the former Rural Development Programme 2007-2013, are aimed at supporting Maltese farmers as well as Maltese livestock breeders.

The schemes fall under Measures 10.1 (Agri-Environment Climate Measures) and 13.3 (Payments to areas facing natural or other specific constraints) of the RDP 2014-2020, which are financed by the European Union and co-financed by the Maltese Government.

Claims for payment under Measures 212 and 214 under the RDP 2007-2013 will also be issued.
