A new €60,000 Moschi tractor which will be used at Ta’ Xhajma Race Track in Gozo has been inaugurated by Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri.
Minister Camilleri said that the existing tractor which is used for flattening sand on the track, especially before each race, had become very old. The new tractor will address today’s needs in terms of engine power, economic expectations and operator health, he said.
A number of events related to the sport of horse racing in Gozo are primarily organised at the horse race track. The Gozo Minister said that the potential offered by this facility can be enjoyed not only by horse enthusiasts but also by the Gozitan sports public.
The Ta’ Xhajma course is run by the Services Directorate in Gozo, within the Ministry for Gozo.
