Following the closure of Brussels airport two weeks ago, Air Malta has announced that it will restart direct scheduled services to the city on Wednesday.
During the closure of Brussels airport, Air Malta said that it carried over 4,000 passengers to and from Dusseldorf as its alternative airport and organised land transportation to and from Brussels. These temporary arrangements were positively received by the airline's guests.
Air Malta has advised that due to the additional security arrangements, Brussels airport is requesting departing passengers to be at the terminal at least 3 hours prior departures. Moreover departing passengers should take with them a printed copy of their electronic ticket, otherwise they may not be allowed to enter the terminal building due to new security arrangements.
Passengers should also bear in mind that services and facilities at Brussels' airport are not yet fully restored and they may be required to walk longer distances and climb more steps unaided. It may therefore be in their interest not to carry heavy cabin baggage. Unaccompanied Minors' are currently not being accepting. Other restrictions exist for the non-travelling public.
