The Magic Steps Child Care Centre in Gozo was inaugurated today, by Education Minister Evarist Bartolo and Minister for Gozo Anton Refalo.

Gozitan parents with children aged up to three years of age can benefit from the free service provided at this new child care centre located on the Xewkija Industrial Estate.

"Through this investment, Gozitan women will now have the opportunity to find employment, with families saving about € 5000 per child in child care costs." The Minister for Gozo, added that as stated in the budget speech about free childcare, "we are the only country in Europe to offer this type of incentive."

Dr Refalo explained this is another project that is offering services with the aim of allowing Gozitan families to achieve a better work-life balance with their families.

Minister Evarist Bartolo said this is another step in the measures that have helped more people enter the labour market. He also said that it is crucial that these experiences have an educational benefit for the children using them.

This centre is equipped to meet the necessary requirements in the full development of children. The programmes being implemented include learning through play, singing sessions, activities, crafts and recreational and educational sessions, the Ministers explained.
