Gozo College Boys' Secondary School has been, in these last two years, involved in an ERASMUS+ KA2 project aimed at helping students to develop entrepreneurship skills.

The project entitled Be Enterprising, Succeed Together (B.E.S.T), also includes schools from the UK, Italy, Norway, Poland, Greece and Estonia. The final part of the project was the Young Entrepreneur Challenge, during which the students formed their own companies and gave a service to the school community.

Four companies were formed. Thomas John Grima, Matthias Borg and Maximus Sam Azzopardi formed the `Fast and Friendly Express Carwash Company.' These students offered to wash staff cars at a price. This was done during break time in the school garage.

`The Yummy Treats Catering and Entertaining Company,' made a variety of sweets which were sold at school. This was the idea of Jeremy Formosa, John Paul Buttigieg and Omar Xuereb, who made the sweets in the Food Lab.

The third company, New Line Cinema' was formed after a student Arthur Portelli came up with the idea of screening a number of films at school. Arthur, together with Steve Galea, Isaac Gauci and Karol Grima, organised the viewing of two films during school hours. This service, which included free popcorn with every ticket, was offered to the students at school.

Kurt Xuereb, Andrew Zarb and Stefan Scerri formed the `C.O.D.' company. They organised an online gaming tournament during the mid-day break.

As part of this activity, the students had to prepare a business plan stating the aim of their business, the company slogan and logo and the student's jobs in the company which included creating adverts to advertise their activities in the school.

All profits made during this activity will be donated to charity.
