Gozo youngster competing in Kids & Youths Triathlon in Malta

On the occasion of the Open Day at the National Pool Complex, the Malta Triathlon Federation, the Malta Youth Triathlon Academy-MYTA and Sport Malta will be teaming together to stage a Kids and Youth Triathlon (Swim-Bike-Run).
A new member of the Gozo Greyhounds Sports Club, Scott Davenport, who is 10-year old, will be competing in today's triathlon in Malta, where he will swim 100m, cycle 3K and run 1K. Scott has been trained by his father Ripley Davenport.
Last Sunday, during the Gozo Half Marathon the Gozo Greyhounds had 3 kids participating in the race, in the 2Km Louis Debattista Jnr was the 1st Gozitan boy, Pam Camilleri ran the 4km and came first over all for Girls, and Matt Camilleri ran the 4Km coming first in his category.
Louis Debattista, who is in the U.S.A. at the moment, congratulated the mothers of these young athletes, helping their kids to train 4 days a week for 3 weeks, to get them ready for the race.
He added that the "Gozo Greyhound club is here to help kids into sports, its free to join, free to train you, and free to compete and if you show dedication to sports then you get your kit and more."
The Gozo Greyhounds Cycling team Malcolm and Brandon will be taking part in the time trial on Sunday morning in Malta. This race has been organised by the Malta Cycling Federation where each club and members of the club will be competing for their best time to the finish line.
