Minister for Gozo Anton Refalo, attended an event organised by EcoGozo to mark the occasion of World Environment Day, which is celebrated annually on the 5th of June.

This year EcoGozo organised an educational outdoor learning activity for Kindergarten children from the Gozo College Xaghra, Gozo College Xewkija and St. Francis School (Primary), held at the Villa Rundle Gardens in Victoria.

Butterflies was the theme chosen for this year's event. Apart from the story telling and singing, the children who attended had an illustrated talk about the life cycle of the butterfly. Various pictures of local butterflies were exhibited as well.

At the end of the session, students participated in the release of the butterflies,and in a crafts activity.
