A flamingo was spotted at Salina today, where it is now under constant observation by BirdLife Malta.
This beautiful bird displays the unmistakable pink plumage and is also ringed, BirdLife Malta said that it is currently tracing the bird’s origin.
BirdLife said that flamingos are rare in Malta, so this is a particularly exciting sighting. Notwithstanding this, on previous occasions there were occasional sightings of flamingos in this same site, salt pans being their natural habitat.
