This afternoon during a public meeting, the Planning Authority will be making a final decision on the future of proposals for Hondoq ir-Rummien, in Qala Gozo, on the construction of a destination port comprising a hotel, yacht marina and tourist village.
The saga of this case has been ongoing since 2002, with environmental NGOs and locals and other entities firmly against such a development.
The Development Planning Assessment Report was completed and issued earlier this month, with a recommended refusal. The hearing for the case is due to start at 2.30pm at the Mediterranean Conference Centre (MA Grima Hall).
