The short Gozitan movie `No Place like Home,’ will be premiering this Saturday during the `Swar u Hajja’ special evening at the Citadel in Victoria, Gozo.
Have you ever felt like you’ve lost your way with a loved one? That no matter how much you try, you can never be on the same page? Well, it happens to everyone. That’s the story presented in the short movie – No Place like Home.
Written, directed and produced by George Tabone and Federico Chini, No Place like Home will premiere at 8pm on the 9th July, in the Theatre Hall at the newly refurbished Gozo Citadel Cultural Centre.
Following the success of last year’s `Dar ir-Rummien,’ Federico Chini teamed up with upcoming director George Tabone to write a drama which showed a different side of relationships. The main protagonists are vibrantly portrayed by Penny Dix ( who acted in Angelina Jolie’s “By the Sea”) and Karel Fialka – who some might remember for his Top 10 UK Singles Chart hits “Hey, Matthew” and “The Eyes have it” back in the 80s..
The film makers said that “with only 9 minutes of running time, it’s a short movie that will make us think twice about the way we treat our loved ones. An interesting fact is that the whole movie was filmed in one location, which is the the house above the famous local attraction, Ninu’s Cave, in Xaghra, Gozo.”
No Place like Home will be accompanied by screenings of the short movies `Dar ir-Rummien’ (The Pomegranate House) and `Between the Lines’ and repeated every hour till 11pm. All screenings will be free of charge. For more information please check their facebook page.
