The Parliamentary Secretariat for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport has launched the National Sport Policy 2017-2027 for public consultation.
This consultation aims to provide a place for discussion and encourages the generation of recommendations for sports to be improved.
The aim behind the National Sport Policy is to streamline the work that is already done in the sport scene. The recommendations outlined in this document focus on three pillars. Although each pillar is separate in nature, they intertwine and are to be treated cumulatively in order to attain the targets set out above. These pillars are: sports and education, sports participation, and sports as a means of economic growth.
The document also focuses on the metamorphosis of Kunsill Malti ghall-Isport (KMS) into SportMalta.
