Carnival fever gets underway with Gozo Regional Carnival

Carnival fever started in Victoria last night with the Gozo Regional Carnival, with large crowds enjoying the entertainment, with parades and dancing in Independence Square.

Carnival weekend in Gozo takes on a traditional pattern and the many visitors to the island during this very popular event will be welcomed with a riot of colour and plenty of excitement to keep all ages entertained!

There are extravagantly coloured floats perched on lorries ready for the procession, children running around in fancy costumes, dancers, music and much much more……. Carnival fever gets underway with Gozo Regional Carnival So take a break, and visit Gozo over the next few days and and experience Carnival events that are planned for all the family to enjoy.

Malta Public Transport has said that it will be operating a special public transport service to facilitate travel and accessibility to those attending the Carnival in Nadur, between the 24th and the 26th of February.

Saturday 25th of February

Gozo Regional Carnival – Independence Square, Victoria – from 9.30am

Gozo Regional Carnival – Republic Street and Fortunato Mizzi Street, Victoria – from 6.00pm

Traditional Carnival – Nazzarenu, Xaghra – from 7.00pm

Spontaneous Carnival – December 13th Street, Nadur – after sunset

Sunday 26th of February

Organised Carnival – Xewkija village square – from 9.30am

Organised Carnival – Victory Square, Xaghra – from 10.00am

Organised Carnival – Zebbug Village Square – from noon

Gozo Regional Carnival – Republic Street and Fortunato Mizzi Street, Victoria – from 2.30pm

Spontaneous Carnival – December 13th Street, Nadur – after sunset
