Police have said that a British woman lost her life after she got into difficulty while diving at Marsalforn, this morning.
According to the Police, the incident happened at about 10.50am. The 44-year old woman was given first aid until a medical team arrived, but was certified dead at the scene.
A Magisterial inquiry has been appointed into the case, whilst Gozo Police are investigating.
Does anybody in a newsroom ever ask the police for the victim’s name, when a fatal accident occurs?
It might be somebody we know.
On the other hand, we may well be relieved to learn that it is nobody we know.
