Today is International Awareness Day for ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia. The Presidential Palace in Valletta is joining other sites around the world on the 11th and 12th of May for the initiative `Light Up the-Night.’ 2017 also marks the 25th anniversary of this special day.

Many buildings worldwide switched to two colours (blue and purple). Blue represents the Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), while purple represents the Fibromyalgia (FM).

Millions of people around the world are affected by these conditions and although today marks the 25th anniversary of this day, the Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), CFS and Fibromyalgia Alliance said that it feels that Malta still has little knowledge or the support available for these conditions.

President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca voiced her appreciation for the work being carried out by the Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), CFS and Fibromyalgia Alliance.
