Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport Chris Agius was present at the signing of an agreement with the Government and two Gozitan football teams – Sannat Lions and Xewkija Tigers.

This agreement will result in the grant of €50,000 for each club in order to financially assist them on two projects that they are undertaking, the Government said.

Sannat Lions will be using this grant to build a spectators stand. While Xewkija Tigers will be using theirs on the work being being carried out to install a gym at the sports facility.

Team Presidents, Jeffrey Farrugia and Teddy Bajada, expressed their appreciation for this financial assistance, which they said, will relieve some of the costs that the clubs have.

Parliamentary Secretary Chris Agius said that this agreement follows a similar one signed recently with the Gozo Football Association.
