“In principle public beaches should be managed and upgraded by the Government or Local councils,” Zminijietna – Voice of the Left said in a statement today. “The idea to outsource management of public beaches to private entities must be totally excluded.”

It added that “the Government should invest more money towards Local Councils, non-governmental organisations and public entities, so that these entities can manage these areas more efficiently.”

Zminijietna – Voice of the Left concluded its statement by saying that, “public-private partnership is a neoliberal concept with the aim to transfer management of public spaces and services to private entities with the aim to maximise their profits, and thus excluding the public from having an active and democratic participation in the management of those areas involved.”
