As from summer 2018 Air Malta is to increase its fleet, the frequency of its current flight destinations and to service new routes.

The airline said that these new destinations will be announced following further in-depth market studies that are currently being undertaken by the airline’s commercial team in a number of working groups and discussions with key industrial stakeholders.

“The additional aircraft will give the airline flexibility to increase frequencies on its more popular services while also allowing it to add new destinations, some of which may be currently unserved by other carriers.”

It is also expected to boost Air Malta’s seat capacity and fuel growth in the number of passengers it carries which currently stands at 1.6 million passengers every year, the airline added.

Air Malta’s management made the recommendation to increase its fleet, which was supported and acknowledged during this week’s Board of Directors meeting.
