The Directorate of Veterinary Services has issued a statement to advise the general public that all eggs currently for sale on the local market are pesticide free and fit for consumption.

Egg sample test results taken in recent days at all local farms have all been negative, except for three farms which had previously tested positive, and which are now under the control of the Directorate of Veterinary Services.

Meanwhile he Directorate of  Environmental Health said that it will of course continue to monitor the overall situation through the EU Rapid Alert System.
