The Minister for Energy Joe Mizzi has announced that the government has negotiated to keep the price of 12kg gas cylinders fixed for one year at €16.00, an increase of 50c.

Minister Joe Mizzi in a statement, said that the last revision of gas prices was last August, when the 12kg cylinder went up by €1 to €15.50.

He added that the international LPG price increased by almost 25% while Malta has only seen a 3% rise.

He said that over the past few weeks, the Government had been working with Liquigas to be able to reach a minimum increase, so as to continue with the policy of energy price stability for families and businesses to allow them to plan ahead.
